Botanic Garden Heritage Farm
2601 Central Ave NW
Albuquerque, NM 87104

Grapevines have been propagated with cuttings and grafting since antiquity. Learn how to easily propagate grapes from hardwood home. All procedures will be demonstrated and participants will have the opportunity to practice "hands-on" grafting techniques with several different grape varieties. We will also discover which varieties of the 5,000 varieties of wine grapes available worldwide are proven performers in New Mexico’s unique climate and soils. Explore lesser known varieties of grapes that are likely to succeed whether you are interested in table, wine, juice or raisin grapes. Please bring a pair of sharp, hand-pruners if you have them.

This workshop is part of the Heritage Farm Home Vineyard Workshops taught by Gill Giese, PhD, New Mexico State University Extension viticulture specialist. All workshops are included with regular admission to the Botanic Garden. Workshops occur on the second Saturday of each month.

Pre-registration is required. Contact Pamela Dupzyk at 505-848-7162.
