Councilor Lewis Holds Ribbon Cutting Celebrating the Irving Boulevard Improvements

Councilor Lewis held a ribbon cutting on May 1, 2015, at the southwest intersection of Irving and Universe boulevards to celebrate the recent improvements.

Irving Boulevard Improvements Complete

Albuquerque City Councilor Dan Lewis is pleased to announce that the long-awaited widening of Irving Boulevard from Kayenta Place to Universe Boulevard and the widening of Universe from Irving to the entrance of CNM at McMahon Boulevard is finally complete. The councilor celebrated at a ribbon cutting, which took place Friday, May 1, 2015.

Safety & Efficiency

The improvements, funded by general obligation bonds and a quarter cent transportation tax, will enhance safety and make traffic move more efficiently through the corridor.

"Residents of Ventana Ranch have been waiting for these improvements for years," Councilor Lewis said. "We are working with the community to ensure that we have safe, efficient roadways that provide access to schools, parks, and businesses in this neighborhood and all over the West Side."

  • bike lanes
  • landscaping
  • storm drain modification
  • curb ramp
  • new traffic signal at the intersection of Irving and Universe
