Two Communities Changed Forever

On September 27, 2012 two communities were changed forever by the premature and heartbreaking death of young Hailey Ratliff. Hailey and her family had recently moved from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Novato, California. She was hit by an SUV in a tragic accident while riding her bicycle home from school in California. She leaves behind her parents and three younger brothers.

Tony Hillerman Middle School in Albuquerque, along with all of her friends and family, were very saddened to see Hailey’s life cut so short. To honor her memory, the recently renamed Hailey Ratliff Trails Park, which many students pass on their way to school, will be dedicated in her honor.

Dedicating the Park

City Councilor Dan Lewis will officially dedicate a City park in honor of Hailey Ratliff, former student of Tony Hillerman Middle School, who was tragically killed while riding her bike to school.
