- City Councilor Don Harris is proposing legislation that would call for the removal of certain non-native trees and debris from the Tijeras Arroyo open space, another step in beautifying Albuquerque’s oldest, largest arroyo.
- Rescue Unit for Station 8
- City Councilors Don Harris and Rey Garduño have introduced a bill that would fund a rescue unit for Fire Station 8, located in the Foothills. The bill, which will come before the Council at its Sept. 9 meeting, would allocate $380,000 from the photo enforcement fund to establish the rescue unit.
- Roller Skate City is More Than Just a Roller Rink
- Councilor Don Harris is pleased to announce to Albuquerque's roller-skating fans that Roller Skate City will open November 6th, 2009. Roller Skate City will be taking over where Roller King left off and with a completely renovated building. New fixtures at the recently renovated roller rink include a brand new skating surface, state of the art sound system and light show, video game arcade, and a skating retail shop. Other cosmetic improvements include new wall carpet, fluorescent black light floor carpet, ceramic tile, completely updated bathrooms and beautiful new custom rental skates.
