Hillary Smith
With a deep soulfulness rooted in the Gospel-driven churches of her youth, a classically trained vocal instrument that’s a natural wonder, and a God-given instinct for swinging a lyric, vocalist Hillary Smith has been electrifying audiences across the United States for more than 30 years. A native of Hobbs, New Mexico, Hill first made her mark in the ’80s with gutsy performances of rockin’ blues and funk, and she’s fronted a number of popular bands in the Albuquerque/Santa Fe area over the years. Chief among the early groups was the multi-award-winning Strictly Taboo, whose debut album, Playing with Fire, got heavy rotation on local and international radio. In recent years, Hill has been digging deeper into the blues with guitarist Chris Dracup and bassist Marcus Casman in the Soul Kitchen trio—yet another award-winning, crowd-pleasing venture.
Reviva
Reviva is more than just a band, it is a way of life. Literally, the word “Reviva” in Spanish translates to “relive”, or “revive”. Our mission is to revive justice, peace, and original music in our local and global community. When you leave a Reviva concert, we want you to feel refreshed, renewed, and reenergized. That’s because we’ve spent several years together perfecting our lyrics and sound in an effort to be an original voice for the voiceless. We sing about real stories that happen to real people, from American adolescent self-esteem issues, the Lost Boys of Sudan, PTSD rates in our troops, to innocent Afghanistani who have lost their families and livelihood over a misguided war for oil. We tell the truth about life, love, and even death itself, and do it through incredible live performances from some of Albuquerque’s top professional musicians.
Porter Draw
The Porter Draw have built a reputation for high energy, sweat-drenched shows coupled with tight harmonies of wistfully delicate lyrics of longing, heartbreak, and the American experience. Combine that with a foot-stomping, booty swinging beat and The Porter Draw and you know why they were voted the best Americana Band in New Mexico.
Food & Drink
Grab a bite to eat from a local food truck downtown that night and those of age can enjoy an ice cold beer from local brewery Boese Brothers.
