Clear the Air Challenge
Single-occupancy vehicles are one of the largest contributors to air pollution in Albuquerque. Alternative transportation can reduce harmful CO2 emissions by 37 million metric tons annually.
Not only does alternative transportation help the environment, it also helps your budget.
A household that uses alternative transportation can save an average of $6,251 every year.
About Clear the Air
Clear the Air is a citywide campaign to promote the use of alternative transportation from an environmental standpoint.
ABQ RIDE asks the public to take the Clear the Air Challenge and commit to incorporating alternative transportation like walking, biking, carpooling and taking the bus into their travel routine.
Clear the Air: Past Events
Last year, hundreds of Albuquerque citizens made the pledge and thousands attended our outreach events, including:
- A Clear the Air parklet to celebrate National Park(ing) Day at Central New Mexico Community College
- A photo booth at the Nob Hill Growers Market
- A bike valet station at ABQ BioPark's Earth Day celebration.
