ART Event Brings Customers, Increased Sales to Central Ave Business
Thursday’s ARTBeat on the Street event at Rude Boy Cookies (115 Harvard SE #7, at Central) marked the kickoff of weekly business promotion events hosted by the Albuquerque Rapid Transit (ART) team throughout the construction corridor. The event brought in a large crowd and resulted in Rude Boy Cookies having a 300 percent increase in daily sales.
“We’re thrilled with the success of our first ARTBeat event, and excited to see success for Rude Boy Cookies,” said Mayor Richard Berry. “Our goal in holding these events is to remind everyone that Central Avenue is always open for business—even during construction. A three hundred percent increase in sales for Rude Boy Cookies is monumental, and this is exactly what we want to see for every business during ART construction.”
ARTBeat on the Street at Rude Boy Cookies featured live music, giveaways and “Cookies for a CAUSE,” which benefited Albuquerque Heading Home.
Throughout the duration of construction, ARTBeat events will be held weekly to encourage people to shop and dine at Central Avenue businesses. Each event will feature entertainment and promotions with collaboration of neighborhoods, business associations and UNM’s College of Fine Arts. Special events and promotions will be advertised on the street the day of the event, on the www.brtabq.com website, on digital billboards around town, via social media and on posters throughout the corridor.
Businesses interested in participating in ART Beat on the Street should go to the Business Assistance tab at www.brtabq.com, email email@example.com or call the ART hotline at 505-398-4ART (4278).
