Late Night Route Covers More of Albuquerque during Weekends
Getting to and staying later at fun spots along Central Avenue is about to get that much easier during summer weekends; now that ABQ RIDE’s 66 Late Night is ready to kick into gear.
Starting Friday, May 25th, 2012, Route 66 service will be extended by one hour, until approximately 1:30 am on Fridays and Saturdays until September 23.
“66 Late Night lets you go to practically any of the city’s summer hot spots”, said Mayor Richard J. Berry. “And it will cost you a lot less than if you use your own car.”
66 Late Night utilizes the #66 Central buses, which run from Transit’s Park & Ride at Tramway and Wenonah to the Central and Unser Transit Center. Riders along Central can access four of Albuquerque’s main entertainment districts- Old Town, Downtown, Nob Hill and East Central and do so at later hours.
66 Late Night runs every 30 minutes, with the last pickups through Downtown at about 1:00 a.m. The fare is $1 per trip.
“66 Late Night is another example as to how ABQ RIDE is striving to meet the travel needs of Albuquerque residents,” said Bruce Rizzieri, Director of ABQ RIDE.
