66 Late Night Extending Friday, Saturday Night Service on Central Avenue

Service runs from June to close of N.M. State Fair in September.

As summer approaches, you can stay later at fun spots along Central Avenue on Friday and Saturday nights. ABQ RIDE's 66 Late Night is making that happen when it swings into service on Friday, June 3.

That night and on every Friday and Saturday night during the summer, service on Route #66-Central will be extended by one hour, with the last trips ending at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays until September 18, 2016.

"You can get peace of mind and save on parking, gas and insurance by leaving your car behind and riding the 66 Late Night", said Bruce Rizzieri, Director of ABQ RIDE. "The route can take you to any of the hot spots along Central Avenue."

That's because on summer Fridays and Saturdays, the #66 takes riders to four of Albuquerque's main entertainment districts: Old Town, Downtown, Nob Hill and East Central. It covers those areas by running on Central from Tramway on the east to the Central and Unser Transit Center on the west.

66 Late Night runs every 30 minutes, with the last pickups through Downtown at about 1:00 a.m. The fare is $1 per trip.

"66 Late Night is an affordable way to help keep your family entertained during the summer months," said Rizzieri.
