Gail Gerstner-Miller, Week of August 9, 2010
Gail Gerstner-Miller, a city employee at the Tony Hillerman Library, was working when a customer approached her to let her know that she felt an epileptic seizure coming on. Gerstner-Miller took the customer to the break room to have privacy and called 911 and let them know exactly where they were. At the same time, Gerstner-Miller informed another employee of what was happening so that she could stand outside and wait for help to arrive. Gerstner-Miller stayed with the employee until paramedics arrived. Gerstner-Miller showed compassion and quick thinking. It’s employees like Gerstner-Miller who show the true nature and spirit of a City of Albuquerque employee.
