Driver Adrian Glass is assigned to the EMS division of the Albuquerque Fire Department.
In this economic climate, employees who have innovative ideas on how to save money are highly valued in the City. It wasn’t just one action that earned Adrian Glass the Employee of the Week recognition; it was what he has done over time to save the department thousand of dollars.
By implementing tracking and accountability measures in the AFD Pharmacy, Glass could successfully keep track of expired medications and control what came in and what went out. Glass took it upon himself to manage inventory and as a result has already cut expenditures in half in the EMS division and the savings continue to roll in.
Glass’ work is now a model for the State and other fire departments around the region are looking at AFD’s management practices.
