Mayor-Governor Initiative

Created by the Mayor of Albuquerque, Running Start for Careers (RSFC) is an innovative dual credit program that focuses on developing skills and creating opportunities that help high school students graduate and transition into a career path. RSFC's focus is to decrease New Mexico’s high school drop-out rate while creating an integrated workforce system.

As an AmeriCorps member and Success Coach you will be a vital part to this effort. You will be fostering the sustainability of the program by building partnerships with family and community members and business, will providing support to 20-25 high school juniors and seniors. Success Coaches will also recruit at least 10 volunteers at each school site from the local community. Gain the kind of experience you can’t find in a typical entry-level job and apply your skills to serious social problems through a program that focuses on increasing education and career attainment.

 

The Mayor-Governor Initiative is a partnership between the City of Albuquerque, the State of New Mexico, and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
