Lilah Rose - 7-7:30 p.m.
Lilah Rose is an electronic pop/alternative rock singer-songwriter based out of the Southwest (Albuquerque, NM). Lilah uses vocal looping to showcase the voice as an instrument and continues to explore all genres of music, incorporating melodic synthesizers, rhythms, beats, and visuals to her sounds.
The Real Matt Jones - 7:30-8:30 p.m.
This alt-country/new-country band from Albuquerque, NM has more than likely touched some corner of the musical world where you hail from or have at least visited - the 4 members in the band have collectively appeared on over 1000 recording projects. Easily one of the most palatable bands you will hear this year, The Real Matt Jones has played shows all over the world, won awards for musicality and songwriting, and has shared the stage with multiple international acts including Colin Hay of Men at Work, Sister Hazel, and Rod Stewart (yes, that Rod Stewart!)
Their latest release, One Day (2017), shows that melody is not dead, storytelling is not just for Merle Haggard, and guitar solos are not just for NFL bumper music. From the ganjo-heavy opening track, “The Way it Should Be” to the Springsteen-esque riff of the closing “Shot at Greatness,” here is a record that marks the best parts of summers past and those yet to come. Look for them in a Southwestern U.S. venue near you, and raise a glass to this ‘Burque band!
Silver String Band, Albuquerque’s premier folk/bluegrass/americana ensemble, was established in August of 2015 as a collaboration between musicians already deeply entrenched in the New Mexico music scene. With a name inspired by the streets of Albuquerque, SSB continues in the steps of local Old Time favorite Peg Leg Joe, who experienced a lineup change in early 2015 and knew they couldn’t just allow themselves to leave behind the truth they’d found through their musical collaboration. Silver String Band gives a nod to their past with some old time references but truly hits their stride playing a combination of originals, traditional bluegrass favorites, and creative covers in the bluegrass style.Sol de la Noche
