Lone Piñon is a dynamic acoustic trio whose music celebrates New Mexico's cultural roots. Using violin, guitar, guitarrón, and harmony vocals in English, Spanish, and Nahuatl, the group has revived and updated the Chicano stringband style that flourished in New Mexico in our grandparents' day. Clustered around a single microphone, they breathe explosive energy and devoted musicianship into Northern New Mexican polkas and chotes, virtuosic Mexican huapango and son calentano, and classic boleros.
A Professional trumpeter and songwriter, Montaño released his first contemporary jazz single "I'd Like That" in 2014. The song was an instant success reaching #14 on the Billboard Jazz charts. The success led to nation-wide performances at jazz festivals across the country. Montaño's music is a steady fixture on radio stations across the country. With solid technique, jazz sensibilities and emotive songwriting, Montaño's sound is a captivating fusion of jazz, pop and latin music.
Past Live & Local Performances
Big K & Blue Train formed in Albuquerque in 2015. Their focus is on classic style R&B/Soul with some blues and funk thrown in for good measure. Although the band is relatively new, the members have been playing in and around Albuquerque for many years. They have spent the last year building up their set lists and are now adding original music to the mix.
As unpredictable, fearless, and entertaining as their namesake, Le Chat Lunatique purveys an addictive genre they call “filthy, mangy jazz,” a signature sound that makes you want to smoke and drink too much—if only you could get off the dance floor. Le jazz hot of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli is their north star, but they use that beacon to navigate through a wide range of genres, blending Western swing, classical, reggae, doo-wop, and “anything else we damn well please” into strikingly original compositions and audaciously reworked standards alike.
Kevin made his introduction into the ABQ music scene in 2005 as the lead vocalist and songwriter in the band Asper Kourt. The band quickly gained a strong local following with their new age, folk/rock style. Kevin’s laid back demeanor and feel good style of songwriting are showcased now as a singer/songwriter.
Treehouse Basement is an Albuquerque-based that loves making music. They play with passion and write original feel good songs from the heart. Their influences include Nirvana, Willie Nelson, The Commodores and The Killers. They currently play all over Albuquerque and have played at events like the Local Band Showcase, Fight for Fiestas and 2016 Westside Summerfest.
*As a way to thank and to give back to their fans, the band will also be giving out CD copies of their record at this show, for FREE, to all that come out and support them!!*
Stay tuned for more information on future concerts!
