Ivon's band, Café Mocha is one of Albuquerque's hottest bands, brewing up an exciting blend of son, cha-cha, merengue, cumbia and other Latin styles. Ivon Ulibarri & Café Mocha are a spicy mix of Latin musical influences that span the globe from New Mexico to the Caribbean and points between. Their sizzling music uplifts the dancers, enchants the listener and captivates the spirit.

Take part in a variety of activities throughout Historic Old Town. Free children's activities include face painting and braving the 25-foot rock climbing wall presented by the City of Albuquerque Parks & Recreation Department.

Watch as demonstrators show how to make traditional art in the Plaza.

Shop local and support all establishments throughout Old Town, in and around the event. There is plenty to choose from such as handmade soaps, jewelry, art, housewares and so much more.

Every April since 1988, Founder's Day has celebrated the City of Albuquerque by reflecting the historic eras: Native American, Spanish, Mexican, Territorial and Statehood. The celebration commemorates a unique and historic event: the birth of our city. Founder's Day honors Governor Cuervo y Valdés for his vision, and honors the first community. It also pays tribute to every generation that has contributed to the growth and prosperity of this enchanted city that was named the Villa de Alburquerque in 1706. The founding of Albuquerque is a success story worth celebrating.
