Pet Adoption Event this Weekend

ABQ BioPark and Animal Welfare team up to help local animals.
Dec. 6, 2018 - The ABQ BioPark and Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department are teaming up this weekend to lend a helping hand to local animals.

Animal Welfare will have their mobile adoption unit with up to 15 adoptable cats and dogs at the ABQ BioPark's Aquarium/Botanic Garden Courtyard from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. this Sunday, December 9.

All adoptions are just $10 and anyone adopting an animal during the event will receive a family four-pack to the ABQ BioPark, which can be used anytime throughout the year.

In addition to the adoption event, a number of other rescue organizations will be in attendance including Birds of a Feather Parrot Rescue, Kings Ferret Rescue, N.M. House Rabbit Society and Walkin n Circles Horse Rescue. The BioPark's Conservation Committee will also be there to showcase its many conservation programs.

"The ABQ BioPark cares deeply about animals and we are delighted to be working together with the Animal Welfare Department to help find forever homes for some special pets," said Holly Casman, ABQ BioPark Aquarium manager. "We also want to give attendees the opportunity to learn more about how they can help save all sorts of animals, including local wildlife."

The event is free and open to the public.
