It's time for Zoo Boo! We're celebrating 28 years of safe Halloween fun this year with games, Haunted Habitats, costumes and, of course, candy! Trick-or-treat from dozens of sponsoring businesses and civic organizations at tables throughout the Zoo.

Call for Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to: 

  • Help run carnival games at Cottonwood Park
  • Assist with craft tables and children's games
  • Serve as candy runners

If you are interested in becoming a Zoo Boo volunteer, please attend volunteer orientation on Tuesday, October 25 at 4 p.m. in the Colores Education Building in the BioPark Zoo (mandatory for each lead representative). Must be 18 or older to volunteer. For more information contact the ABQ BioPark Volunteer Specialist at  505-848-7172 or [email protected].

Special Enrichment for the Animals

In addition to all the fun of Zoo Boo, we will also have special enrichment activities for our animals in the morning, which visitors can watch.

9:30-11 a.m.: Catwalk

10 a.m.: Lions

10:15 a.m.: Jaguars

10:30 a.m.: Rhinos

10:45 a.m.: Chimpanzees

11-11:20 a.m.: Orangutans and gorillas

11:45 a.m.: Elephants

Included with regular admission.Up to four children in costume get in free with each paying adult. New Mexico BioPark Society members receive free admission for the adults and children on their pass as usual. To qualify for the offer above, an adult must purchase a ticket.
