Investigation into Redflex Traffic Systems Contract

Albuquerque City Councilor Dan Lewis sent a letter to the Office of the Inspector General and Internal Audit requesting an investigation into the Redflex contract with the City of Albuquerque.

On January 23, 2014, the Chicago Tribune reported on certain allegations having surfaced in a suit by an ex-employee of Redflex Group. The company may have engaged in misconduct leading up to its contracts with various municipalities.  A contract was initiated between Redflex and the City of Albuquerque in approximately 2005.

Redflex has formally commented that it is unaware of any unethical conduct related to its account with Albuquerque, and that it is committed to transparency and honesty in its business practices here.  Currently there is nothing to suggest otherwise.

Councilor Dan Lewis asked for a detailed investigation of the process leading up to the initial Redflex Traffic Systems contract.
