District 5 2014 Letter

Year’s end is always a great time to stop and reflect on the accomplishments of the past year and look forward to what lies ahead.

It has been an honor to serve District 5 this year. I am looking forward to continuing to work with you, with my colleagues in City Council, and with the Mayor and other city departments to make Albuquerque an even better place to live.

Paseo / I-25 Interchange Complete

We were very excited to open the Paseo del Norte/I-25 Interchange on Monday, December 15. I started working on this project on my first day in office as your City Councilor. It didn’t take long before the project became a top statewide priority for roadway improvements, and with the help of the New Mexico Legislature, Governor Susana Martinez, Mayor Richard J. Berry, Bernalillo County, and my fellow City Councilors, this project was funded and is now complete.

Feel free to check out my project website to see a list of other completed projects this past year as well as ongoing projects and initiatives in District 5.

Announcing Rachel Miller — New District 5 Policy Analyst

I’m proud to announce that Rachel Miller started in November as my new policy analyst. Tony Duran moved to another position with the City of Albuquerque. While we were sad to see him go, I know that Rachel will be a great asset to our community. She has lived in District 5 for 15 years and is very familiar with the area.

Contact Information for Rachel Miller

Please don't hesitate to reach out to her if you have any questions or concerns about anything related to the City Council or your neighborhood.

I hope you and your family have a very happy new year and a blessed 2015.

Dan Lewis, Councilor
