City Councilors Ken Sanchez and Cynthia Borrego attend Habitat for Humanity's International Women Build Day

The inaugural International Women Build Day which helps raise awareness of the affordable housing needs facing women and children.

On March 8, 2019, City Councilors Ken Sanchez and Cynthia Borrego attended the Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity's International Women Build Day events. A team of 17 Lowe's Heroes volunteered alongside Habitat homeowners to build an affordable home.

Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity was one of 18 Habitat communities in the world selected to participate in the inaugural International Women Build Day and received a $25,000 grant from Lowe's. The money goes toward building the 2019 Women Build House, an affordable home for a family in need.
