City Council Proclaim the Month of May as Albuquerque Teacher's Month

Councilor Borrego recognizes Albuquerque Teachers at the May 21, 2018 Albuquerque City Council Meeting

As the school year comes to an end, Councilor Cynthia Borrego presented some Albuquerque teachers with a proclamation recognizing May as Albuquerque Teacher's Month, at the May 21st City Council Meeting.

Albuquerque's teachers are devoted to nourishing the physical, mental, emotional, social, and intellectual promise of each student by removing barriers to learning and embracing student's individuality and connection to their communities through department programs such as "Student, Family, and Community Supports."

Albuquerque Public Schools 6000 plus teachers continuously use their own resources to purchase supplies, work long hours, and weekends, and reach above and beyond their position's responsibilities while receiving compensation falling short of that warranted by their dedication.

The City Council hereby recognizes and thanks Albuquerque teachers.
