Community Meeting on West Central Corridor Retail and Market Analysis
Westside residents are invited to a Community Meeting and Discussion taking place on Wednesday, April 20th at the Alamosa Community Center- 6900 Gonzales Rd SW from 5:30 - 7 pm. There will be a presentation of the completed Retail and Market Analysis of the West Central Corridor prepared by Prime Properties, LLC and the final results of the Community Outreach and Engagement project conducted by the West Central Community Development Group.
Last year the City Council approved legislation sponsored by Councilor Klarissa Peña to conduct a comprehensive Economic Study and Analysis for the West Central corridor. The primary objective of the study was to review current economic conditions in the district, evaluate retail/commercial development strategies and formulate feasible development initiatives with specific implementation strategies. The project included a community outreach and development process to gather input from residents and businesses to develop community based strategies for economic development along West Central.
Councilor Peña looks forward to Wednesday’s community discussion on how to move forward in developing strategic partnerships that can cultivate and create economic activity that is unique to West Central, building on its cultural, environmental, social and historical assets.
