Pollination Celebration: Photography & Art Competition

We celebrated pollinators this week by entering photos, videos, drawings, sculptures, or other mediums to creatively capture pollinators or flowers!


All who participated will receive a gift bag compliments of the ABQ Bio Park!

Winners for the Adult categories:

  1. Urban and Backyard - No So Va for fly in Hollyhock
  2. Food and Farms - Drea Rae Cormwell for Corn Pollen
  3. Wild and Natural Areas - Katherine VB Chilton for Datura

The winners of the overall adult competition:

  1. Brian Urban for Humming Bird and Bird of Paradise
  2. Kerstin Winters for Blackbee
  3. Ties for third place include: Diane Mary for Humming Bird Painting; Patricia Holloran for Fabric Collage of Bee; and Tara Armijo-Prewitt for Yucca Moth

Winner for the youth competition:

  1. Amber Anderson, Age 11

Competition Details

The dompetition is closed on Sunday, June 28.

We will have lots of winners! Enter any of the three different categories: 'Urban and Backyard,' 'Food and Farms,' and 'Wild and Natural Areas.'

Vote for your favorite photo by "liking" it on the Facebook Photo and Art Competition page!

Enter your submission by Sat., June 27 at 10:00 pm. Include category, age group, and contact info with your submission. Winners will be determined by the most "likes" on Facebook. Don't forget to vote, too!

All winners will receive a prize from the ABQ BioPark including seed packets and other conservation-themed goodies! Grand prize winners will also receive two BioPark passes!

All winners will be announced on Sun., June 28. Winners will be notified Mon., June 29 and must be able to pick up their prize at the Botanic Garden between June 30th and July 12th.
