Take ABQ RIDE to the New Mexico State Fair

ABQ RIDE provides an economical and timely service to the State Fair during the run of the Fair from Sept. 5-15. Fairgoers can use ABQ RIDE regular service from any of four Park and Ride facilities. Four ABQ RIDE bus routes, Rapid Ride Routes #766 and #777, Route #66 and Route #157 will drop off and pick up fairgoers at Central and Louisiana. 

The most popular place to catch the bus is the Uptown Transit Center, located at 2121 Indiana NE, just south of Coronado Shopping Center. The other Park and Ride facilities are located at: Montaño Rd NW, just west of Edith (Montaño Transit Center), Ellison and Coors Bypass (Northwest Transit Center) and Central and Unser (Central and Unser Transit Center).

Regular fares apply and do not include admission to the fair: $1-Adults (each way) or 35 cents (each way) for individuals age 62 or over, disabled passengers and students (10-18). Children age 9 and younger ride free, accompanied by an adult.

Northbound Rte. 766-Rapid/Red Line —Weekdays-9:40 p.m.; Saturday-9:10 p.m.; Sunday-6:47 p.m.

To Central and Unser Transit Center

Westbound Rte. 66 —Monday through Friday- 12:04 a.m.; Saturday-11:54 p.m.; Sunday-6:56 p.m.

Westbound Rte. 766-Rapid Ride Red Line —Weekdays-9:08 p.m.; Saturday-8:48 p.m.; Sunday-6:03 p.m.

To Northwest Transit Center (Ellison and Coors Bypass-near Cottonwood Mall)

Northbound Rte. 157-Montaño /Uptown/Kirtland— Weekdays-9:26 p.m.; Saturday-9:22 p.m.; Sunday-5:07 p.m.

To Montaño Transit Center (Montaño Rd NW, just west of Edith)

*Some bus stops along Louisiana, Lomas and Central will be closed throughout the run of the Fair. These are the routes affected:

#11-Lomas

  • Thursday, Sept. 5 through Sunday, Sept. 15…all eastbound stops on Lomas between San Pedro and Louisiana will be closed.

#66-Central

  • Thursday, Sept. 5 through Sunday, Sept. 15…the stop west of Gate One, on Central will be closed. The #66 stop at Central and San Pedro will not be affected.
  • Friday noon, Sept. 6 through the close of service, Sunday, Sept. 8 and Friday noon, Sept. 13 through close of service on Sunday, Sept. 15…for #66-Central westbound, the stop east of Louisiana will be closed.
  • The westbound #66 & #766 stop on Central, just west of Louisiana is closed, due to traffic congestion. A temporary stop for the westbound #66 & #766 has been set up at Central and Alcazar, near the Lindo Mexico Restaurant. The next furthest westbound stop for the #66 & #766 past Louisiana is at Central and California.

#157-Montaño /Uptown/Kirtland

  • Thursday, Sept. 5 through the close of service on Sunday, Sept. 15… all southbound stops on Louisiana from I-40 to Central will be closed.  Southbound Route #157 will be stopping at Louisiana, just south of Central.

#766-Rapid Ride/Red Line

  • Thursday, Sept. 5 through the close of service on Sunday, Sept. 15… all southbound stops on Louisiana from I-40 to Central will be closed.
  • The westbound #66 & #766 stop on Central, just west of Louisiana is closed, due to traffic congestion. A temporary stop for the westbound #66 & #766 has been set up at Central and Alcazar, near the Lindo Mexico Restaurant. The next furthest westbound stop for the #66 & #766 past Louisiana is at Central and California.
