ABQ RIDE Offering Full Service for Presidents Day

Six Routes into Kirtland AFB Detouring Due to Holiday Gate Closures

ABQ RIDE will run its regular weekday schedule on Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 18, 2019 for both fixed routes and Sun Van service.

Commuter Service and Rail Runner Express Bus service will also be available on this holiday (the New Mexico Rail Runner Express will run its regular weekday schedule).

Customer Service windows at the Alvarado Transportation Center at 1st and Central SW will be open Feb. 18, as well as assistance at 243-RIDE (7433) for Sun Van reservations.

However, because Kirtland Air Force Base will be closing its Wyoming Gate and opening its Gibson Gate only after 8 a.m. on Feb. 18, ABQ RIDE will detour six of its routes that serve the Base on Presidents Day. This includes all-day detours for the #31-Wyoming route and #98-Wyoming Commuter.

#31-Wyoming all-day detour:

Northbound:

  • Regular route from Building 800 or Building 825 (as scheduled) to Wyoming & Frost, then
  • North-Wyoming
  • East-Frost (G Ave)
  • North - Eubank
  • West - Southern
  • North - Moon
  • West - Susan
  • North – Wyoming and back to regular route

Southbound:

  • Regular route south on Wyoming to Wyoming and Susan, then
  • East - Susan
  • South - Moon
  • East - Southern
  • South - Eubank
  • West - Into Eubank Gate
  • West - “G” Ave.
  • Continue West - Frost
  • South - Wyoming
  • Back to regular route to Building 800 or Building 825 (as scheduled).

#98-Wyoming all-day detour:

Southbound

  • Regular route south on Wyoming to Wyoming and Susan, then
  • East-Susan
  • South-Moon
  • East-Southern
  • South-Eubank into KAFB via Eubank Gate
  • West- “G” Ave
  • South-18th and back to regular route

Northbound (evening)

  • Regular route north to 18th and “G” Ave., then
  • North-18th St.
  • East-“G” Ave (out of gate)
  • North-Eubank
  • West-Southern
  • North-Moon
  • West-Susan
  • North- Wyoming and back to regular route

Routes #96-Crosstown Commuter, #217-Downtown/KAFB Limited and #222-Rio Bravo/Sunport will be on detour Feb. 18 until 8 a.m. only. Here is the inbound detour for all three routes:

Inbound to Kirtland AFB

  • Regular routes east to Gibson & Truman, then
  • East-Gibson (service stop on Gibson at Truman)
  • South-Truman (enter Truman Gate)
  • East-Randolph (curve)
  • South-Kirtland Rd
  • East-Hardin
  • North-Pennsylvania
  • East-G St. and back to regular route

 

Outbound from G Ave at Pennsylvania (Affects Route #222 only.):

  • Regular route from Building 800 to “G” Ave. and Pennsylvania, then
  • South–Pennsylvania
  • West-Hardin
  • North–Kirtland (curve)
  • West–Randolph
  • North–Grace
  • North–(Exit KAFB)
  • West–Gibson (service stop on Gibson at Truman) and back to regular route

Route #157-Montano/Uptown/Kirtland also will be on detour Feb. 18 until 8 a.m. only The first #157 trip that will be able to follow its regular route will arrive at Building 800 at 8:21 a.m. Here is the detour for that route:

Southbound

  • South–Louisiana
  • West–Gibson
  • North-Arizona
  • West-Eastern
  • South–San Pedro (end of line)

Northbound

  • South–San Pedro
  • East–Gibson
  • North–Louisiana and back to regular route
