Due to inclement weather earlier in the week, residential trash and recycling collection is on a one-day delay. Thursday customers should leave their bins at the curb no later than 7 a.m.

Buses are running on a regular weekday schedule. Route #36 and 37 northbound are detouring due to construction on Rio Grande at Candelaria. Route #790 westbound is detouring due to construction on Rio Grande at the I-40 on-ramp. Route #157 is detouring due to the road closure on Louisiana at Gibson.

If you are looking for a new cat or dog to add to your family, the National Adoption Weekend starts today. Visit PetSmart locations on Eubank Boulevard and at Winrock Mall today through Sunday, February 24th from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. to find your new addition. On-site adoption fees are only $10 during the event.

The first of four Discovery Hikes at the Candelaria Nature Preserve hikes takes place tomorrow, February 23 at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. launching from two different locations. Staff experts from the City’s Open Space Division will guide hikes around the property, pointing out the land’s natural features and asking for feedback about how the land should be managed going forward. Albuquerque is excited to host the 2019 National Senior Games presented by Humana from June 14th to June 25th. Athletes, including Albuquerque City Councilor Brad Winter, are ready to compete in New Mexico for Gold, Silver, & Bronze medals in 20 sports.
