Description
You're invited to spend a day (9:00 to 2:30) with Master Composters at a small farm in Albuquerque's South Valley, improving your composting skills and knowledge. The class is open to those who have completed one of our basic composting classes. Lunch will be provided!
- You will get hands-on experience with an actual multi-bin hot compost pile: creating, turning, and sifting.
- You will explore several static composting approaches such as keyhole gardening, creating in-ground sponges, and applications for Bokashi bucket contents.
- You will spend an hour or so looking at vermicomposting outdoors including appropriate location, bin environment, food and moisture, harvesting, and over-wintering.
Cost is $20, including lunch. See Intermediate Hands-On Composting Workshop for registration information. (The workshop is free for Master Composters and Interns but please let us know if you are coming.)
Hope you can come. The ducks will be there!
