Lavender Libros Continues with Director Carolyn Ortega Along with Kittens from Animal Welfare Department

Lavender Libros is a virtual reading program designed to encourage youth literacy.

Lavender Libros is a Children’s Book Reading Program by local government and community members.

Director Carolyn Ortega of the City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD), will read on the Lavender Libros YouTube Channel on Wednesday, March 31st with one of her favorite children’s pet books as kittens listen to her read as they play.

City Council President Cynthia D. Borrego initiated the Lavender Libros book reading project to demonstrate care and outreach to New Mexico’s children. Government administrators and community leaders alike read a children’s book available on the Lavender Libros YouTube Channel.

Animal Welfare Department, reads A Home for Nate by Claudia M. Roll. The author of the book was a co-worker from AWD and she adopted Nate the cat from our shelter. Video will go live at 5am on their YouTube Channel.
