12 Strays of Christmas

Adopt a long-term pet

APD and AFR are coming to the rescue with Animal Welfare to help homeless pets find homes this holiday season.

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department is teaming up with the Albuquerque Police Department, Albuquerque Fire Rescue and photographer Winston Foto this holiday season to help homeless pets find their forever homes this holiday season. APD and AFR will be striking a pose with the city’s long-term pets for the 12 Strays of Christmas.

For the 12 days leading up to Christmas, one pet will be featured on AWD, APD, and AFR’s Facebook pages. The highlighted pets will be available for adoption and will have the adoption fee waived.

The adoption will include spay or neuter, a microchip, required vaccinations, and one free initial vet visit. For dogs, you will receive one free dog training class.

May the true spirit of Christmas shine in your heart and light your path to adopt a pet.
