Description
In honoring those who service our country, the City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department is waiving the adoption fee for veterans, service men and women who are active duty, reserves, military retirees and their families from Monday, October 28 through Monday, November 11. Thank you for your service to all Americans.
Veterans will need to show proof of military status and meet our adoption requirements.
Boofy’s Best for Pets will offer a bag of dog or cat food for free if a veteran brings in adoption paperwork. Each adoption will include spay or neuter, license, all vaccinations required by law, and a microchip.
Veterans will be able to meet the pets and talk with an adoption counselor to get assistance in finding the pet who will fit their family. Spread the word. Adopting a pet is a win-win for everyone involved. A faithful companion is gained, a friendship is formed and a life is saved.
