Animal Welfare is Honoring a Fallen Superhero

Pet Adoption and Fundraiser for the shelter.

Oct 05, 2019
10:30 AM - 07:00 PM

PetSmart - Everyday Adoption Center
350 Eubank Blvd. NE
Albuquerque, NM 87112

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department is honoring the late Travelin’ Jack one of our volunteer superheroes. We are celebrating his life with a pet adoption and a fundraiser at the PetSmart Everyday Adoption Center.

Travelin' Jack started life out as a shelter pup, but he's accomplished a lot in his 11 years. He's dedicated his life to supporting his four-footed compadres, and his work has helped hundreds of pets get adopted into forever families and helped raise funds for animal welfare organizations.

Proceeds honoring Travelin’ Jack will benefit Kennel Kompadres, who are friends of Animal Welfare Department. Supporting the local non-profit will help with education, the spay/neuter program and help city shelter pets find forever homes.

Select a sidekick for an adoption fee of only $5 for any pet on Saturday, October 5. PetSmart will distribute coupon books along with a free gift with every pet adoption.

Along with any dog adoption, Animal Welfare is providing one day of free “sidekick superpowers” dog training. Some of our adoptable sidekick’s superpowers include a love for snuggling, a fondness for adventures, and incredible cuteness.

Comic fans can come to the PetSmart at 350 Eubank Blvd. NE from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm to take a photo with their favorite comic character. The Comic Crusaders 4 NM will be in attendance in their Superhero costumes.

Everyone can become a real-life superhero just like Travelin’ Jack by adopting a sidekick from Animal Welfare.

Releasing bubbles at 11 a.m. in memory of Travelin’ Jack.
