Animal Welfare Department Requesting Donations for Homeless Pets in Care

Enrichment toys, collars and harnesses, crates and exercise pens needed for animals who remain in shelters during COVID-19 restrictions

Albuquerque residents have stepped up in a big way around their shared love of animals, adopting or fostering homeless dogs and cats in large numbers. But hundreds of pets still remain in shelter or foster care, and Animal Welfare is asking the public to donate to support them.

The wish list for cats and dogs include small cat toys, treats, beds, brushes, wand toys, scratchers, dog enrichment toys, collars, harnesses, peanut butter, and Kong toys. In addition, we need donations of crates and exercise pens for use in foster homes.

Members of the public should drop off donations at the Animal Welfare Department Eastside and Westside Shelter intake doors. For drop-off locations, go to
