The New Mexico Shakespeare Festival Presents

Directed by Peter S. Kierst

Hamlet is perhaps William Shakespeare’s most famous play. The ghost of the King of Denmark tells his son Hamlet to avenge his murder by killing the new king, Hamlet's uncle. Hamlet feigns madness, contemplates life and death, and seeks revenge. His uncle, fearing for his life, devises plots to kill Hamlet. Peter Shea Kierst, Artistic Director of the Festival, will direct. Mr. Kierst has previously directed Shakespeare’s Henry IV and Henry V, Julius Caesar, Richard III, and Romeo and Juliet, as well as The Importance of Being Earnest, All is Calm and others. Sheridan Johnson plays the eponymous character. She is joined by Augusta Allen-Jones as Gertrude, Mark J. Richman as Claudius, Owen Reid Callis as Horatio and Caitlyn Kelly as Ophelia.
