Route 66 Clean-up & Ribbon Cutting

Description
This year's Route 66 Spring Clean-up will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Keller to celebrate the purchase of two new Open Space land acquisitions in the Tijeras Arroyo. Logan Ranch is a 21.4-acre parcel along the Arroyo and below the Singing Arrow Community. The Chant property is 16.7 acres adjacent to the Route 66 Open Space that now enlarges the Route 66 Open Space to 79.7 acres. In 2007, Open Space developed the Tijeras Arroyo Biological Zone Resource Management Plan, intended to protect natural and cultural resources and wildlife habitat in the largest arroyo in the city. Mayor Tim Keller is pleased to announce the acquisition of these two key parcels as part of our commitment to protecting the Tijeras Arroyo.
Then roll up your sleeves and join us for the year's first spring clean-up. There are projects for all ages and abilities, including trash pick-up, trail rehabilitation, revegetation, and graffiti removal. Don't forget about prizes after the clean-up, including for the weirdest trash contest!
