Kick off National Pollinator Week 2018 (June 18-24, 2018) with this event for all ages.

This event is rain or shine. Thank you!

Pollination Celebration activities include live music, kids crafts, demonstration bee hives, honey sales, local vendors, activity tables and more!

Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the beautiful shaded patio! Indoor and outdoor activities for all ages!

Pollination Celebration Schedule of Activities:

  • 9am-10am: Urban Beekeeping talk with Lara Lovell
  • 10am-10:45am: Presentation by Olivia Messinger Carril, co-author of The Bees in Your Backyard
  • 11:00am-11:45am: Live musical performance with Last Call
  • 12pm-1pm: Screening of the film “The Guardians,” an inspirational film about the protection of Monarch butterfly habitat
  • 1:00pm-1:45pm: Live musical performance by Seth Hoffman


  • Make Your Own Bee Bath Activity with Wild Friends
  • Pollinator-themed mud and seed stencils with artist Rachel Zollinger
  • Face painting
  • Native bee habitat demo with LuLu Sage
  • Open Space Alliance Gift Shop Sale (40-50% off selected items!)
  • Educational displays by Wild Friends, the Native Plant Society, N.M. Beeks, Think Like a Bee, and the Albuquerque Garden Center
  • Arts and crafts booths, honey sales
  • The creation of a ceramic pollinator Art Garden with artwork made by Cirrelda Snider-Bryan's students at the Natural History Museum and students from Sandia Prep.
