National River Cleanup

Help restore the health and beauty of the Rio Grande! Join the City of Albuquerque Open Space Division and other local organizations for the annual National River Cleanup event.

Parking is limited so PLEASE CARPOOL!

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED: Register with REI at, call 247-1191, or stop by 1550 Mercantile Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107.

WHAT TO BRING: You will need work gloves, water, and sun protection.

1. Community Bosque cleanup at the Central Avenue Bridge: Trash cleanup along both sides of the Central Bridge.
2. Organize your own Bosque cleanup: Have a favorite area of the Bosque? Consider hosting a Bosque cleanup of your own! Call 452-5213 to sign up!
3. Clean the river in rafts provided by Kirtland Outdoor Recreation. Raft availability is subject to water levels. Spaces are limited so show up early the day of the event to reserve your place!
4. Clean the river in your own boat: You must provide your own transportation and shuttle for your boat. Please call 452-5213 for instructions for boaters. Boaters must follow NM State Parks Boating safety regulations. Call State Parks at 1-888-NMPARKS or see for more information.
