Description

The New Mexico Shakespeare Festival Presents

Twelfth Night O Lo Que Quieras
Directed by Ana Maria Campoy

The comedy Twelfth Night O Lo Que Quieras is a fast-paced romantic comedy with several interwoven plots of romance, mistaken identities and practical jokes. Separated from her twin brother Sebastian in a shipwreck, Viola disguises herself as a boy, calls herself Cesario, and becomes a servant to the Duke Orsino, with whom she soon finds herself falling in love. This is a difficult romance to pursue, since Orsino believes her to be a man. The production is a bi-lingual adaptation created by the director, Ana Maria Campoy. Virginia Benitez-Jones plays Viola, joined by Ed Chavez as Feste, Debi Kierst as Malvolio, and Allison Letterman as Orsino.

Ana Maria Campoy is a Mexican American theatre artist, educator, and advocate, and has worked as an actor, director, adaptor, and dramaturg for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Seattle Children’s Theatre, Book-It Repertory Theatre, Washington Ensemble Theatre, and Pork Filled Productions. She currently is an Associate Artist with ArtsWest. She lives and works in Seattle, WA
