Description

The focus of a June 2024 presentation in the Open Space program was the development of the landforms of the Sandia mountain front that developed over the last 30 million years to as recently as the last few thousand years.  presentation delves more deeply into the geologic evolution of the Sandia Mts. and much of the U.S. Southwest over the last 1.4 billion years that culminates in the development of the "Rio Grande Rift" and the Sandia Mountains uplift.
