2026 Booking of Open Space Reservation Areas is now available
The Open Space Division has four picnic areas that can be reserved online.

Open Space Division's Elena Gallegos and Carolino Canyon properties have shelters that can be reserved for your event. Elena Gallegos is open year round and Carolino Canyon is open from May 1st through September 30th.
All reservations are made using the online system play.cabq.gov. You must first create an account to see availability. Staff are available for support Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. For support, place a support ticket within play.cabq.gov, email [email protected] or call 505-768-4224 or 505-768-4202. Staff checks support tickets daily. Voice mails will be returned within 48 hours. Please include specifics in the online support ticket: area you want to reserve, your Household ID. Tickets that simply say reservation or facilty may get routed to the incorrect department. Thank you for your patience and we appreciate your enjoyment of Open Space.
