Description
World Refugee Day is an international day designated by the United Nations to honor refugees around the globe. It celebrates the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution. World Refugee Day is an occasion to build empathy and understanding for their plight and to recognize their resilience in rebuilding their lives.
This a free event for all ages and will features resources, vendors, performances, music, art, activities and more! We invited the community to come out and join us! Register to attend World Refugee Day 2023!
This year's event will be held on Civic Plaza on Saturday, June 24th from 4pm - 9pm.
Organizers: Office of Equity and Inclusion at the City of Albuquerque, Civic Engagement Office, APS Newcomers and Refugee Program, Catholic Charities, Lutheran Family Services, United Voices for Newcomers Rights, UNM Hospital Community Engagement Office, Vizionz Sankofa, and community members.
