Join the State of New Mexico and City of Albuquerque for the first Statewide Virtual Juneteenth Celebration. In place of a physical Juneteenth for some communities, all are invited to enjoy a day of live music, spoken word, and dance to celebrate the end of formal slavery in America. This celebration started in 1865 in Galveston, Texas when the last confederate state was issued the Proclamation two and a have years after being issued. This event will draw community via-web-based streaming to hear from local talent that will inspire and empower the Black Community and the entire community.
