Information About the Play

Get set to be mesmerized by August Wilson's "Jitney." This Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, known for masterpieces like "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom," and "Fences," takes us on a ride through 1970s Pittsburgh. Directed by the talented Angela Littleton, this play unearths the compelling tale of a group of itinerant Black drivers providing vital taxi services to their communities. It's a story brimming with family conflict, the shadow of Vietnam, battles against addiction, and confronting the ever-present specter of racism in this terrific ensemble piece.

The production will feature Marcus Ivey (The Mountaintop, Blood Knot), Gene Corbin (Showboat, Ragtime), Nicee Wagner (The Mountaintop, The Yellow Boat, The Revolutionists), Dachary Vann (The Yellow Boat, Romeo and Juliet, This is Modern Art, Hir), Darryl DeLoach, Finne Coleman, Mack Leamon, and Steven Higgins.

Reservations for the full performances may be made at or by calling 505-247-8600. Performances continue until March 24, 2024, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and second and third Saturdays and all Sundays at 2 pm. General Admission tickets are $24, SAG/AFTRA and students are $19.
