Civic Plaza Presents starts off its summer season this Friday, May 19, with live music, delicious food and free movies for ongoing Civic Plaza Fridays.

Yoga on the Plaza offers free weekly lunchtime yoga sessions starting Tuesday, May 23.

The ABQ Kids Rock Fest is a free event for children of all ages.

These family-friendly community events are free and open to everyone at your Civic Plaza.

ABQ Food Fridays

ABQ Food Fridays is a free weekly, open-air pop-up happy hour on Fridays from 6 to 8 p.m.

For the season opener on May 19, Tucanos will be serving up delicious dinner options, there will be fine local microbrews, and the Alex Maryol Band will be adding exciting live music to start your weekend off right.

Each week will have dinner from a different restaurant and music from a different live band. All dinner entrees will have a fixed price point of $10 or less.

Restaurants that have signed on for ABQ Food Fridays include Slate Street Café, M'Tucci's Italian Kitchen, Pueblo Harvest Café, Delish, and more.

Chefs will serve out of the Silver Spoon - a top of the line mobile kitchen in beautifully renovated classic Airstream trailer.

Upcoming bands include the Red Light Cameras, Cali Shaw Band, Le Chat Lunatique, and others.

There is no cover charge. Events are family-friendly. Come and enjoy the music and fun atmosphere of Civic Plaza.

Movies on the Plaza

Movies on the Plaza is an open-air series of family friendly movies on Civic Plaza also starting on Friday, May 19, and continuing every week through the end of September.

The line-up features varied programming including recent titles like "Moana" and "Hidden Figures" along with best loved favorites like "Edward Scissorhands," "The Little Mermaid" and "Groundhog Day."

All the movies are free and open to all.

Movies on the Plaza features one of the largest outdoors screens in Albuquerque. Movies start at dusk, right after sunset. Some seating is available but moviegoers can bring their own portable seats, blankets, and lawn chairs.

Movies on the Plaza kicks-off the season on May 19 with Disney's "Beauty And The Beast" (1991), the beloved animated classic. Movies on the Plaza takes place on Fridays and on some Wednesdays.

Yoga on the Plaza

Yoga on the Plaza will provide free weekly yoga sessions starting on Tuesday, May 23.

A family and children session starts at 11 a.m. and an all-level session starts at noon.

These community sessions are presented by Mi Vida Yoga as part of their mission to bring yoga to all people in order to improve health and quality of life.

Truckin' Tuesdays, the weekly food truck lunch on the plaza, will provide fine lunch and beverage options.

Find your inner calm underneath the warm Albuquerque sun on the city's downtown plaza this summer.

ABQ Kids Rock Fest

The ABQ Kids Rock Fest will take place on Saturday, Aug. 5.

This event is geared for children of all ages and admission is free.

There will be animal performances, live music, food trucks, and more.

All Civic Plaza Presents events are family, dog, and bike friendly.

Civic Plaza is in close proximity to the Downtown Rail Runner station and a BICI bike share station is located across the street at the Convention Center front doors.
