Description
Proposed changes to the Integrated Development Ordinance (IDO), part of the Housing Forward Initiative to address the housing crisis in Albuquerque, will be heard by the City Council Land Use Planning and Zoning Committee (LUPZ) on April 12, 2023. This in-person meeting is another opportunity to learn about the changes that will be discussed at LUPZ. Representatives from the City will present to answer questions about the following topics:
- Allowing for the conversion of commercial/office buildings into permanent housing
- Expanding residential housing options in the city zoning code to include
- Increasing the availability of casitas (Accessory Dwelling Units, ADUs)
- Increasing availability of diverse housing options
- Adjusting parking requirements for multi-family homes
