Winter Wool Festival at the ABQ BioPark

Botanic Garden's annual event to feature artisans, demonstrations and music.

February 21, 2018 - Explore New Mexico's many fiber traditions at the ABQ BioPark's Winter Wool Festival.

Discover traditional and contemporary fiber arts with rug hooking, spinning, knitting and other demonstrations at this annual event, which takes place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Feb. 24, 2018, at the Botanic Garden's Heritage Farm.

"Visitors will be able to learn about the variety of animals that produce wool including sheep, rabbits, camels, and llamas and visit some of them at the farm," said Pamela Dupzyk, ABQ BioPark Aquarium/Botanic Garden education coordinator. "They can also learn about the many plants used in fiber arts and view colcha embroidery and quilting demonstrations."

The Red Light Ramblers will be playing traditional music from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The event will also feature wool crafts for kids.
