Kids Fishing Fair at Tingley

Tingley Beach's Kids Fishing Fair to offer fun interactive opportunities, fishing lessons to children.

February 22, 2018 - Children ages 4-12 will get a special opportunity to learn all about fishing this weekend at ABQ BioPark's Tingley Beach.

The Kids Fishing Fair takes place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25.

Discovery stations will offer interactive opportunities for children to learn more about fishing. Kids can also learn how to fish with representatives from the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish.

"Kids will love the interactive opportunities during this fishing fair," said Tammy Maitland, BioVan program facilitator and Tingley Beach coordinator. "We'll have biofacts, art-making opportunities, animal track activities, a bread exchange cart, and a silvery minnow game, among other things."

The event is free and open to the public, but children 12 years and older must have a New Mexico fishing license to fish.
