The facility will be offering earlier morning hours, adding evening hours and reducing hotter afternoon hours.

Starting Sunday, July 26, the Botanic Garden will operate from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. daily. The last time slot for the day will begin at 1 p.m. and the facility will close at 2 p.m. with all visitors being asked to leave at that time.

Starting Friday, July 31, the ABQ BioPark will expand to evening hours from 5-8:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The last time slot will begin at 7:30 p.m. and the facility will close at 8:30 p.m.

Starting on July 26, the ABQ BioPark will sell tickets at a discounted rate to New Mexico residents. Adult admission will be $2 off and children's admission is $1 off. With the discount, prices will be $8 for adults, $3.50 for seniors, $4 for youth and free for children 2 and under.

"ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden timed ticketing has proven to be very popular in the cooler morning hours, so we have decided to open an hour earlier," said Paul Garver, ABQ BioPark guest services manager. "To accommodate Albuquerque's summer heat, we've decided to close during hotter afternoon hours but are excited to offer new evening hours on the weekends."

The ABQ BioPark is continuing its measures to keep our staff and visitors safe by:
  • Limiting the number of visitors through timed ticketing. Visitors can purchase their tickets online in advance here. Members can still reserve their tickets here
  • Visitors must wear a mask for the duration of their visit to the Botanic Garden.
  • Staff must wear masks at all times.
  • Indoor attractions are closed including the BUGarium, Butterflies and Bees exhibit, the Aquarium, and the Desert and Mediterranean conservatories.
  • The Children's Fantasy Garden and Curandera Garden loop will also remained closed because of challenges to social distancing in these areas.
  • Restrooms will be available and will be cleaned and sanitized frequently.
  • During the mid-day closure, guest areas will be deep cleaned before the evening hours commence.
