An introduction to the art of Japanese paper folding. Participants of all ages are invited to learn to fold beautiful origami figures and to contribute to the folding of paper cranes to adorn the Children’s Peace Statue, “A Peace Garden” on display at the Balloon Museum.

Arrive early and take a guided tour at 1:30 PM of the museum’s “Balloons in War” display and our Peace sculpture, which shed light on the history of peace and conflict between the United States and Japan, as well as the role of balloons in WWII and how paper cranes relate to our Peace sculpture.

The workshop and tour are free with paid admission to the Balloon Museum ($3 to $6 per person). Workshop reservations are recommended. Please email museum educator Lauren Coons, [email protected], to reserve your spot(s)
