Cythia Barber transforms flat sheets of cut and bent steel into three-dimensional non-objective sculptures. Barber’s vivid red sculpture, As the World Turns, conveys a sense of balance, juxtaposing rounded forms with straight lines and positive space with negative space created by the cut voids. These shapes change and merge and sometimes sections of the work seem to disappear when the sculpture is viewed from different angles.
