1 p.m. Curator Talk at Albuquerque Museum
Exhibition co-curators Dr. Lowery Stokes Sims and Ana Elena Mallet discuss how the border serves as a catalyst for initiating social engagement and cultural dialogue for artists and designers working today. Dr. Lowery Stokes Sims, co-curator of "The US-Mexico Border: Place, Imagination, and Possibility," recently named one of the Most Influential Curators by Artsy, is the retired Curator Emerita at the Museum of Arts and Design. Co-curator Ana Elena Mallet is a Mexico City-based independent curator specializing in modern and contemporary design. She received a BA in Latin American Literature from the Universidad Iberoamericana and is pursuing an MA in Art History at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.

The talk will be followed by a booksigning of the exhibition catalog outside the Museum Store. 

1 - 2:30 p.m. Family Art Workshop at Albuquerque Museum
Create a work of art inspired by the exhibition.

6 - 8 p.m. Public celebration at 516 ARTS (516 Central Ave SW, Abq) featuring music by Lone Pinon
