Monday–Friday, March 30–April 3, 2020

Morning Session:  9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. OR Afternoon Session: 1:30–4:30 p.m.

Join other teens from across the city and explore questions of identity, art, and activism during this week long class. Experiment with drawing, writing, image transferring, printmaking and collage to explore your personal story and creative voice. Tour the Museum galleries and work individually and collaboratively to create work for a student-curated show at Albuquerque Museum.

Grades: 8–11

Price: Free. Registration is required.

Class size is limited: 15 students per session

Instructor: Vashti B. Moss

Vashti B. Moss is an artist, arts educator, program planner, and curriculum developer who gives shape to learning environments that foster creativity, community and kindness. Originally from New Mexico, she has lived, studied and worked extensively in San Francisco and Los Angeles, as well as Albuquerque. She explores how imagination tools and creative community building can be used to better communicate ideas in authentically diverse environments. Currently, Vashti works on her art in her Albuquerque studio, as well as teaching solution-based learning through the arts in schools and community centers throughout the City. Hallmarks of Vashti’s community work are her collaborative spirit and her ability to meet people where they are and joyfully guide them into their own creative strengths.
